Family isn't always blood...and sometimes it's just that.

It's getting personal in here....

Usually this is my film outlet, today it is going to get a little deeper than that.

For a long time it was just the three of us and it grew to four. I've realized long ago that family is who you feel close to, and sometimes family can be those who are not related to you but really good friends. My family has always been, to me, just my mother and sister.

I've seen a lot of facebook status, twitter tweets, and articles lately about AMAZING fathers. It saddens me to have never written anything ever about my father, simply because he has never been there in our life. But then when I really think about it, growing up....my mother was my father, she was my friend, she was my valentine. MY MOTHER WAS...IS...AND WILL ALWAYS BE THE BEST DAMN THING I HAVE EVER KNOWN. I will always love that about her!

NOW CASTING!!!

Currently I discovered a talent website, posted some roles and have a ton of people looking to audition for my short film titled "On Warwick Road". I am really thrilled to see so many people interested!

Can't wait to audition them all :)

Working On My First Ever....STORYBOARD!!!

So, I decided it's time to begin pre-production for a short film I'd like to shoot this fall. Today I printed out some blank storyboard papers and began to fill them in, using stick figures of course, I am not a great artist!

But it's really helpful to have this so that you can see ahead of time what you want your scenes to look like when you do film. For me, I am very visual in my mind, so I've already seen the whole film being played out. But I can't always say out loud what I see, so therefore I am working on my storyboards today.

My script is about 25 pages long and so far I was able to use one sheet to plan out the first three pages!

A TV Show!

Decided to go through an old folder last night and found notes to a script that I've been working on for a few years. It's in a television show format. I already had the first episode written on my computer. The five bright index cards in the photo are actually my notes for the first five episodes.

Today I've begin writing episode two, I also worked on some side notes.

I find using index cards really help me put my ideas together, they are easy to work with.

The set takes places on a college campus, it makes me laugh looking at my notes because I made a map of the school, but for some reason when I have thing's like that plus some background information written up about the characters, I find it easier to get into the mind frame to write!

The Numbers, Frank...continued.

Been working on the next short script for "The Numbers, Frank". The first one was just a project my sister created to try out for an acting role, but we brainstormed a bit and thought of a way to expand and continue with the project.

We are really hoping to expand and improve on the next one. Right now I just finished up writing the next short, but it needs to be approved by my sister Jennifer before we can continue.

After all the details are worked out and the script is good to go we will be filming in early May, so you can expect to see the next one then!

The Numbers, Frank.....

Hey Everyone!

Over this past weekend on Saturday night my sister, boyfriend, and myself worked together and filmed a short sketch. My sister and boyfriend acted in the sketch and I got to work behind the camera. It was a lot of fun.

My role was to work with the boom mic, which was fun to do, but hard, I have no upper body strength and will have to start working on that when I hit up the gym this week!

I also designed the set, selecting and setting up some little props to give the actors stuff to work with, :)

Filming took us around an hour, and then there was importing the videos, and the camera that my boyfriend was using ran into some errors, that we are all hoping can be easily fixed! PLEASE KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED!!!!

After all my editing, we ended up making a two and a half minute sketch! It took me a few hours but the video is finally up on my youtube page for all to enjoy, I will post it on here as well!

The Curse Of The Pirate
